Say Good-Bye to San Diego

We had a great time while in San Diego!  After our three days of parks, we had a very low-key final 4 days.  After we went to the Nat, we also headed back to Balboa Park the next day to see the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. It was fun...especially the Grossology exhibit!

Most of the afternoons we put the baby down for a nap and then the kids and I would swim, swim, swim.
Our hotel room opened up on to the pool.  It was PERFECT!

We spent our last night at the Beach...not really at the Beach, but at the park at the beach. Ha ha ha!

Such a fun trip!

The "NAT"

San Diego Day 4:  San Diego Natural History Musuem

We have a pass to our local science center in Pullman.  And with that gives us reciprocal entries into over 300 other museums, etc across the country.  Two were in San Diego.

We headed down to Balboa Park to check out the "Nat" as the locals call it!

We saw a movie, played with dinosaurs, saw a horse exhibit and checked out the Skulls exhibit.

It was really fun to see some new things, especially the skulls.  There were hummingbird to alligator to a replica of a woolly mammoth skull.  The kids LOVED it!

Solids

While we were on our trip we busted out the oatmeal for Chloe.  As you can see from the pictures it was a little rough at first.  Check out her HUGE pout!  She's getting the hang of it and may even be starting to like it.

It's always amazing to me how fast they change when they are this little.  But it's really fun for the older kids to help out all along the way.  And they are GREAT helpers!

Chloe at 4 Months

July 8th:  We have a 4 month old

We actually didn't get her dr. appt. until July 23rd after we got back from our trip.  Here are her stats:

Height:  25 1/4
Weight:  16 lbs 10oz

That is almost another 2lbs in 2 months and another 2 inches.  STOP GROWING!!!

All of us are smitten with this little Chlo-baby!  She is such a sweetheart!  Time for solids!!!

San Diego Zoo

San Diego Day 3:  San Diego Zoo

Our last day of parks...and it was HOT! And we were tired!  And the zoo is HUGE!  Needless to say crabby times were had by ALL.  But we had fun none the less.

We started off with the petting zoo.  Always a hit with the kids!

This Giant Tortoise is thought to be around 150 years old.  He is named Speedy!  They were really cool to see.

The pandas were also really cool to see.  But this was also the peak of the crabbiness, especially for mom.

We posed for a picture here check out where Brady decided to position himself...hahaha!
LOVE these kids!
So...we needed a break after seeing the elephants.  We parked ourselves in some shade and Garrett went to get us a treat (afterall what's a Clegg outing without a treat) and right next to our table was this statue of a jaguar.  Sophie and Brady went with Garrett and while they were gone Grace was trying soooo hard to climb on top of the statue. They were gone for a good 10 minutes and she was trying, trying, trying almost the whole time.  I wasn't really playing attention and all of a sudden all the people sitting next me started clapping and cheering. I look over and Grace is on top of the statue.  Turns out the people...like 15-20 people...were watching her and were congratulating her on finally making it on top.  HILARIOUS!!!  By this time Garrett was back and all three kids messed around with the statue  and were posing for pictures.  Seriously funny kids!

At the end of the day we took a tour of the zoo on top of a double-decker bus.  The kids did some fun things on our trip and this was a really, really fun thing...HELLO...no seatbelts required...what kid wouldn't love that?!?!
We had a blast with the kids making memories these last three days!  And overall the kids did amazing...especially Chloe who spent a lot of time chillin' in her carseat!  Can't wait to make it back!  Now it's time to get creative with how to spend our days while Garrett is spending 14 hours on the golf course for the next 4 days!

SeaWorld

San Diego Day 2: SEAWORLD

LOVED LOVED LOVED SEAWORLD!!!

Our kids love animals.  We spent the most time here of the three parks.  We spent almost 40 mins alone just watching the Orcas.  Beautiful creatures.  We saw dolphins, turtles, sharks, sea lions, pilot whales, baluga whales, birds and tons of other animals.  We saw three shows too, but by far the dolphin show was our favorite.

The sea lions were all lined up along the wall with their mouths open waiting for people to drop food  into their mouths.
Waiting for the sea lion show to start

This was the bat ray feeding area.  Tons of bat rays.  We bought some food and Brady LOVED feeding them.  The girls were a little more scared of it, but Brady would stick his hand all the under the water and would LAUGH when they finally grabbed the food out of his hand.

LOVED the tide pools.

Shamu

Waiting for the dolphin show to start.  We ate our picnic here in the stands while we waited.  And Garrett treated us to churros...which the kids LOVED!
Love this little angel!

At the end of the day there were NO LINES for the rides. So we tried a water ride with a HUGE drop that would spray water out all sides called ATLANTIS.  Brady was too short to ride it so he hugh out with Chloe and I and splashed in the spraying water.  The girls loved the ride so much they rode it TWICE!

SUCCESS at SEAWORLD!!!  (And no lost kids today!!!)
