THE APPLE CUP

WSU hosted the Apple Cup the Friday after Thanksgiving.  It's a HUGE rivalry between WSU and UW...and while we've previously been UW fans, now that Garrett is employed by WSU, we are die hard WSU fans!

We haven't missed a home game this season and we weren't about to miss this one either!
Traditionally UW has beaten WSU way more...but you always have an open mind...right...even when WSU has only one 2 previous games.

We bundled the kids up and Garrett had field passes and took Grace and Sophie on the field for pre-game.  THEY LOVED IT!!!

Brady and Rachael hung out in Cougville and Brady played on the fun bouncy toys before the game.
 GO COUGS!!!

Waiting for Garrett and the girls to make their way to our seats.

 CUTE, CUTE kids!
 Daddy's girl

The kids all made it until beginning of 3rd quarter...and then started getting cold and were ready to leave.  We were able to hold them off with games on our phones until the beginning of the 4th...the score was 28-10 UW, so we were packing up getting ready to leave...and WSU went on this unreal scoring run...there were some bad calls and missed field goals involved and we're in
OVERTIME!!!!

WSU won 28-31.
UNREAL victory for such a crappy season...we just won the APPLE CUP.

Fans stormed the field...we did not!

Grace and Sophie with Butch before the game down on the field.

WE LOVE being COUGS!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from the Clegg House!

We didn't travel for Thanksgiving this year.  So we had some good friends join us and we had a fantastic day!

We fixed our favorites and our friends fixed their favorites, so that meant we pretty much had two dinners worth of food!

THEN

Garrett did some black friday shopping that night...and got some great stuff!

The kids table for our feast! This is the 2nd year rainbow jello cups have been a part of the feast.  Looks like it might be a tradition!

Our black friday score!!!

So thankful for all of our blessings this past year has brought our little family.  We are healthy, happy and loved!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Turkey Trot

Sunnyside Elementary School does a fantastic activity right before Thanksgiving break, called the Turkey Trot.  It's a HUGE deal!!!

Each 5th grader is in charge of a group of students made up of 5-6 kids and they all file into the gym and search out their group number.  It's all so exciting!  Then the kids head out to the track to "trot" around the field and see who wins...or something.  I'm actually not totally sure what the point of it all is, except that it's tradition and the kids have a blast!

The parents line the track and cheer on the kids.  They go by grade level and some of the older grades do a couple laps, while the kindergarteners do 1/2 a lap.

The kids are so cute running, running, running.

Rachael attended the event as class photographer again and laughed with all of the other parents on the sidelines.
 Grace was in group 12
Sophie has morning kindergarten and they did the trot in the afternoon.  But Miss Hood, her teacher who is sitting behind her, said she could come along with Rachael and trot away.  She is sitting by one of her cute little friends, Trestin.
2nd Graders getting all pumped up for their turn to run.  The PE teacher, Mr. Peterson, gets them all rowdy and excited for their turn.
Grace making her way around!  Perfect form!  (Can you see why the parents laugh...it's hilarious)
This is what Brady did during the trot...he and Cassia, Trestins' lil' sister climbing fences.
Here are the Kindergarteners, starting at 1/2 way point!
 GO Sophie!!!
The girls got medals AND hot chocolate!

Kindergarten Feast

Sophie's Kindergarten class put on a Feast for Thanksgiving.  They invited all the parents and siblings to enjoy some yummy treats they had made themselves.

The Menu:
Stone Soup
Cornbread muffins
Pumpkin Pie
Homemade Butter

AND

a special program of funny songs for our entertainment!

Here is our little sassy kindergartener.  I can't believe she is growing up so fast!

Daddy loves his girls

 Love these two

Homemade pumpkin pie and butter.  The kids seriously made all of these things throughout the week in class.  So cool!
 The entertainment
 Stone soup anyone?

Complete with the stone...can you see it?  (HINT: it's in the back next to the spoon)
 Cornbread muffins. YUMMY!!!
Chloe: "where is mine?!?!"
 LOVE my little turkey!

2nd Grade Thanksgiving Potluck

Grace's 2nd grade class had a potluck in honor of Thanksgiving.  Each child brought something traditional that their family has as part of their feast.  Grace chose to bring pumpkin bread.  And you should have seen the spread!  Some of the mom's went all out!  Rachael was able to attend and document the event as class photographer!

Happy Thanksgiving!
